After a year of successful momentum with online sales, Steel Birch decided it was time to take things to the next level. This included improved formulations, new upscale + minimalist packaging, an updated website and branding and lifestyle photo sessions with Joseph Bradford, Sirena Singleton-White and Blake Weisel of Peninsula Agency.
What has evolved is a beautiful modern brand that is quickly gaining recognition in the natural bath and body industry for their products and their cause of supporting addiction treatment. Below you’ll see an overview our work for this project.
“Peninsula Agency helped bring my vision for Steel Birch to reality. With their assistance, I was able to focus on production and business operations while they took care of all my online needs. Ultimately, they helped develop Steel Birch’s brand. Their contribution to my business has been invaluable.”
– Courtney W., Founder, Steel Birch
We determined that the Steel Birch brand should embody a modern, sophisticated and elegant, yet casual look to mirror their target audience.
For the rebranding a goal was to brighten things up and allow for the use of versatile pastel color palette, golds and more white space.
In order to make the products really shine, the client needed custom labeling and packaging for the product line.
Our goal was to keep the client’s directive of cohesive, clean, and modern labeling, while working to ensure each product stands alone nicely.
We sourced all of the jars, lids, bottle, caps, spray pumps, lotion pumps and boxes and let the client select which options she preferred when filled with her beautiful products.
From there we captured the products with custom photography and prepared them for the website and other marketing materials.

As the brand evolved it was time to move beyond straight forward product photography and into more colorful and interesting lifestyle brand photography. We wanted the ability to have a range of photo styles that worked with the brand and used several photographers with their own distinct looks.

The website that we developed for Steel Birch was built with WordPress and leverages WooCommerce for the shopping cart. The client wanted everything to be easy and streamlined on the back end so we connected the account directly with Quickbooks for easy accounting and TaxJar for automated sales tax.
